Welcome to
Miss Home Education
I am a former elementary school teacher, turned home educator. I created a blog to share my own parenting and homeschooling experiences. My goal is to be an encouragement to current and potential homeschool families. On this website, I offer online resources, curriculum and book recommendations. Thinking about homeschooling your Kindergartener? I have some quick tips to point you in the right direction! I also provide dyslexia support, if your child is experiencing difficulty with reading or writing. I hope to inspire you with ideas that will provide a foundation for joy in your home education.

“By wisdom a house is built and through understanding it is established.”
-Proverbs 24:3
When our oldest child was starting Kindergarten, we had to decide where we would send her to school. After being home together every day, I was not ready to throw her into full-day instruction under the care of people I did not know. If we wanted a half-day option, we would have to pay a hefty tuition, to send her to private school. After prayerful consideration, and at the risk of not providing her with enough “socialization,” we decided to give homeschool a try. Here we are starting our fifth year of home education, and I did not even have to think twice about where our youngest child would go to Kindergarten. He is right here with me, and his big sister, learning and growing at home. Want to read more about our family’s parenting and homeschool journey? Click the “read more” link below to access my blog.
